About the Cover Image

Throughout the ages human beings have struggled to present that which cannot be spoken. Masterpieces are made in this way, great poetry, architecture, and song capture glimpses of the unknown that point us to something that seems always just out of reach. And yet guidance in these forms can bring us a little closer to what we don’t yet know.

The cover image for the Dreaming Into Knowing Workbook composed by Eli Vokounova is one such effort. We chose it because it speaks to the intersection between our waking lives and that which we inhabit in dreams.

We feel that the image suggests that we look more closely at the in between. The spheres seen in the image are composed of threads that dance and form shapes that are familiar and yet unpredictable, organized and nonlinear. Some of the lines that make the shape of spheres reach out beyond the edges and on their own form new paths as if to explore what has not yet been discovered and integrate it back into the form that seems ever being made at the center. Several points of intersection illuminate as if to suggest that there are gems to be found where what is visible meets with what is unseen.

Amidst the dance a straight linear line divides the page, a reminder that there are two poles of consciousness, vertical and horizontal: the spheres of heaven are where imagination lives, while knowledge is brought down to where we reside here on earth where it may be shared and applied to our lives so that we may know and understand life better.

The work presented in this book is not so different from painting, poetry, or songs that point us to the beyond. You may use these gifts to hone a skill that widens your view, allowing you to see what had been just out of reach. We recommend that you seek and find the illumination at the points of intersection where the dream and knowledge commingle. As the image suggests this way of looking is not in traditional fashion in which we use our eyes and ordinary senses, it is of a kind of seeing that includes the heart which is pure light itself. Our hope is that this book may guide you on this very path.
